SELECTED GOVERNMENT FIRE PROTECTION PROJECTS:

Waterways Experiment Station Engineering Research and Development, Vicksburg Mississippi. Performance of design and construction phase services for addition to Building 3200. Fire protection design includes automatic fire water suppression system, clean agent gas suppression system, fire extinguishers, smoke control systems and automatic fire detection and alarm systems.

Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Performed fire hazards analyses (FHAs) for critical buildings at the Y-12 plant. Work included detailed review and analysis of combustible loading, sprinkler system design and installation, and fire alarm system design and installation. Building compartmentation was reviewed in detail based on varying levels of combustible loading and fire hazard categorization. Compliance with the Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) was also extensively reviewed as part of the development of a typical FHA. Emergency pre-plans were also reviewed and updated when required.

Fernald Enviromental Management Project (FEMP). Performed fire hazards analyses (FHAs) for critical buildings. Work included detailed review and analysis of carbon bed filters, combustible loading, sprinkler system design, and fire alarm system design and installation. Building compartmentation was reviewed in detail based on varying levels of combustible loading and fire hazard categorization. Compliance with the Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) was also extensively reviewed as part of the development of a typical FHA.

NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) Lewis Field, Cleveland, Ohio. Developed Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) documents for critical buildings. Work included relocation of combustion component test facilities. Report development included detailed review and analysis of oxygen and hydrogen storage, combustible loading, CO2 system design, sprinkler system design, and fire alarm system design and installation.

Meridian Naval Air Station (NAS).

Performed design and construction phase services for renovation of bachelor enlisted quarters (BEQs). Fire protection system design included a residential automatic firewater sprinkler system and hand held fire extinguishers.
Performed design and construction phase services for replacement of air traffic control tower and operations building. Fire protection system design included a fire alarm system, automatic firewater sprinkler system and hand held fire extinguishers.

Southern Region of the Federal Aviation Administration(FAA).

Performed design and construction phase services for fire protection backbone systems for the Miami, Memphis and Jacksonville en-route air traffic control centers (ARTCCs). Fire protection systems included in the design were fire pumps, water storage tanks, underground piping, and above ground fire mains.
Performed design and construction phase services for fire protection backbone system for San Juan Puerto Rico Combined Center Approach Control Facility. Fire protection systems included in the design were fire pumps, water storage tanks, underground piping, and above ground fire mains.
Prepared fire safety risk analysis for en-route air traffic control centers (ARTCCs). Work included detailed review and analysis of sprinkler system design, halon system design and installation, fire alarm system design and installation, and building compartmentation. Compliance with the Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) was extensively reviewed. Emergency pre-plan was also reviewed and updated.

Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems, Marietta, Georgia.

Performed life safety investigation and design services for egress compliance project involving selected buildings. Systems investigated and designed included all means of egress components including exit lights and emergency lighting. Code requirements implemented in design included NFPA 101, SBC and SFPC.
Performed code analysis, fire protection, and security systems design as part of Title IA and IB investigation and design services for hazardous materials storage and waste transfer facilities. Systems designed included automatic sprinkler suppression, AFF foam suppression for rack storage of flammable liquids, fire alarm, access controls, CCTV, and fencing.

Treasury Department, Washington, D.C. Performed Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) and Building Code analysis for proposed Visitors Center addition to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.

United States Postal Service, Atlanta Georgia. Provided investigative and design phase services for a new replacement fire alarm, detection and communication system for the Bulk Mail Center.

Harland Printing, Atlanta, Georgia. Provided investigation and design services for various buildings. Work included the development of graphic evacuation plans for selected facilities.

Smith Gambrell & Russell. Provided expert consulting for sprinkler related loss event at Brooke Ridge Condominiums. Expert services consisted of a written report and sworn testimony.

Theragenics. Performed fire hazards analysis (FHA) for new manufacturing Facility in Buford, Georgia. Work included detailed review and analysis of combustible loading, sprinkler system design, and fire alarm system design. Building compartmentation was reviewed in detail based on varying levels of combustible loading and fire hazard categorization. Compliance with the Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) was also extensively reviewed during the development of the FHA.

CNN. Provided investigative and design phase services for a new replacements fire alarm, detection and communication system for the CNN Center Office/Hotel/Convention Center/Studios/Mall complex, Atlanta Georgia.

ThermalKEM (now Philips Environmental). Provided investigative and construction phase services for new replacement fire protection systems incinerator and waste processing facility, Rock Hill, South Carolina. Fire protection systems included AFFF foam suppression for closed head sprinkler systems with pre-action alarm systems.

Merck Central Engineering.

Provided investigative, design and construction phase services for fire protection system upgrades for Stonewall Site, Elkton Virginia. Fire protection systems upgraded included Tank Farm Fire Suppression and North Loop underground fire water loop replacement.
Provided design phase services for boiler house renovation for Rahway Site, Rahway New Jersey. Fire protection systems included automatic fire water sprinklers, fire alarm and building compartmentalization.

Pharmacia & Upjohn. Provided design phase services for Ground Water Treatment Plant in North Haven CT. Fire protection systems included automatic firewater sprinklers, fire alarm and building compartmentalization.

AT&T. Provided design and construction phase services for web hosting facilities for sites in Atlanta, Boston, Austin & Los Angeles. Fire protection systems included automatic fire water sprinklers, air sampling, fire alarm and building compartmentalization.

BellSouth. Provided design phase services for telecommunications technical center for in Jacksonville Florida. Fire protection systems included automatic fire water sprinklers, fire alarm and building compartmentalization.

Georgia Tech University, Atlanta, Georgia. Performed deputy fire marshal service. Services included plan review, occupancy permit authorization, safety training, code interpretation, system commissioning and participation in emergency planning activities.
